Aleah Black

Hello! My name is Aleah, and I'm a queer artist, educator, and community organizer.

I believe that art cannot be separated from community and that community cannot be separated from art. I believe that work within education, food, healthcare, and political organizations are all necessary parts of an artist's life. I believe in resistance against systems of oppression, generous and empathetic theater, and fun.

August 2017 to Present: Mountain Sage Community School
Performing Arts Teacher, Music Teacher, Admin Support

  • Taught performance classes to grades 1-5 and music to grades 6-8

June 2017 to August 2017 (webdesign work ongoing): Red Wing Black Bird Theater
